Finally getting on here to share my personal experience with the recent solar eclipse.
As I shared in previous posts, Vedic wisdom tells us an eclipse is an opportunity to meditate, a spiritual time, and also a time of transformation.
Was I curious to look at the eclipse….of course I was.
But I strongly felt moved to honor this wisdom. I wanted to follow the teachings of the Rishis, the sages, who aligned themselves with nature, and were spiritually, some might say scientifically, connected to the cosmos.
It is said that when you chant mantras 108 times during an eclipse it is equivalent to 10,000 times or more. We chant mantras for safety, health, to clear anxiety, luck, abundance, to honor ourselves, etc…
One of my spiritual teachers says, “ the mind is connected with the moon, the body is connected with the Earth, and the Sun is connected with both. The time when all three come in alignment is a good time for spiritual practice.”
Lead by a teacher of Vedic Chanting and his students, for 3 hours, I gathered live with 1,000 or more humans in the U.S, via zoom, and simultaneously on social media. This event was specifically created for the solar eclipse. (Just when I don’t like the virtual world, there are so many positives.)
We chanted, and meditated: and when I found myself not being able to chant, I closed my eyes and bathed in chanting.
Thirty minutes later when I opened my eyes the moon-dimmed sunlight was entering through the windows. I closed my eyes to resume meditating and when I finished, I opened my eyes and the room was filled with bright light.
It was an amazing experience.
In all honesty, and probably not a popular one, I didn’t like the energy of the eclipse.
Though I personally felt content and light.
This light feeling, wasn’t there prior to the eclipse
It has since stuck with me.
I feel immense gratitude.
Did you feel a certain energy? I would love to hear about any spiritual experiences.
